show answer How secure is the website?

Our web server uses industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all of your personal information including debit or credit card numbers, names and addresses. The encryption process converts the characters that you enter into code that is then securely transmitted over the Internet. When you place an order, a small padlock will appear in your browser indicating that any information provided cannot be viewed by a third party.We ensure 100% secure online trading and at no point are any of your credit card details sent over an unsecured connection.

Yes, provided the item is still available and that the original item purchased is not a personalised product.

For hygiene reasons, we would ask you to refrain from trying on jewellery for pierced ears.

We reserve the right to refuse returns or to charge you our fees and expenses if the product has been worn.

Please follow the returns procedure stated in the Delivery/ Returns section.

show answer If I have a query, how soon will Customer Services respond to my email?

We endeavour to respond to all emails within 48 hours.

However, please note that the Customer Services department is closed at weekends.

show answer Will I be able to order and pay for products if there’s no postal service eg a strike?

Of course! You can order easily through our secure web site, or, if you prefer, call our customer service team on 0844 204 4020 and they will be delighted to take your order.

However, we’d advise against paying by cheque at this time as it may be delayed in the post: just use your debit card (which is the same as a cheque) which we can take either online or over the telephone.

Your order will then be despatched using an alternative courier service, so you experience no delay

show answer Do you guarantee your goods?

Your purchase is covered by our excellent home approval guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied, just return the item to us unused, in its original condition and undamaged packaging, within 14 days from the date of despatch, and any money paid for the product will be refunded. For your own protection, be sure to retain a Proof of Posting. Please note that we cannot apply this Home Approval Scheme to personalised products, which may not be returned unless faulty.

If you return the item outside of the 14 day home approval period, or in less than the original undamaged condition, we may not accept it, and it may be returned to you at your expense. If, at our sole discretion, we do accept it, you will receive a credit note which can be redeemed against future orders within the next twelve months. However, we reserve the right to make a charge to cover the cost of processing the late or damaged return. Currently this charge is up to £3.50.

Once your order is submitted you will be presented with an Order Acknowledgement Page which will include information regarding your order; this information will also be emailed to you immediately.

show answer Are you compliant with WEEE Regulations?

As part of our environmental responsibility Compton & Woodhouse adheres to the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations.

If, having purchased an electronic item from ourselves, you wish to return your used electronic goods, please contact customer services and we will provide instructions on how to do so. We will provide you with a reasonable level of compensation for the return postage and dispose of the waste electrical item accordingly.

As goods returned under this policy are waste, it is not necessary to insure them. All items returned to us are recorded and disposed off accordingly.

show answer How do I apply a promotion code to my order?

To apply your promotional discount code:

You will first need to register an online account or sign in if you have already registered.
Once registered, sign into your account and enter the discount code into the field below your selected products on the basket page. Click the "Apply Coupon" button. Any applicable discount will appear above your first payment. Please note, that while the first payment value you see will not automatically adjust, the discount value will be subtracted from your first payment.

If you have received a discount voucher offer in the press or by mail please read the terms carefully as not all offers will be available online. Offers not available online can be redeemed by contacting our Customer Services team.

show answer Do you accept international orders?

We can accept orders from outside the UK. Postage & Packing is charged at £20 per order.

show answer How long does it take from the day I order my product until I receive them?

This varies considerably from product to product and our stock levels fluctuate daily. As a general rule, we advise customers to allow up to 28 days.

However, if the item you require is in stock, it is likely that you will receive your order well within 5 days. If the item is despatched directly from our suppliers or engravers it will take approx 4 to 6 weeks.

If for some reason your product has not arrived, please contact the Customer Services department.

Customers should also be advised that multiple purchases may not necessarily arrive at the same time.

International deliveries will take longer, but we will always indeavour to get your order to you as quickly as possible

show answer How will I know when my card will be debited?

Your card will be debited when you place your order. If you are a UK customer paying by payment plan, your card will be debited on the same day every month unless it falls on a weekend, in which case it might be taken on the prior Friday.

show answer Do you charge for postage and packing (p&p)?

We charge a flat rate of £5 per order for UK Delivery, no matter how many products in the order.

International orders will be charged at £20 per product.

show answer What do I do if I don't know my ring size?

If you have a ring that fits you, you can use the following guide to find out what size ring you need to order.

1. Print out at 100% - make sure you do not select the ‘scale to fit page’ or ‘shrink to fit page' option.

2. Place a ring that is the same size to the one you want to purchase over the circles on the printed form.

4. Find the circle which completely fills the inside of the ring without overlapping.

5. The letter inside the circle is your ring size.

Most of our ladies’ rings are available in sizes J - W and most of our gent’s rings are available in sizes R - Z.
