Royal Staffordshire The Lady Of Shalott Figurine

Based on the Arthurian legends, the story of the Lady of Shalott tells of a young, beautiful girl who lives in an island castle in the river that flows to Camelot. She spends her days weaving scenes of life outside the castle but a mysterious curse means she must only look at the world in the reflection of her mirror. One day she spots Lancelot in her mirror, stops weaving and looks out of the window towards Camelot, and thereby brings about the curse. She leaves her tower, finds a boat and floats towards Camelot but dies before she arrives at the palace where Lancelot stands. This beautiful figurine depicts The Lady of Shalott as she stands in her tower, holding a mirror in one hand, her latest tapestry draped over her arm. She is handcrafted in fine bone china and wears a stunning draped pink gown, detailed with gold filigree that matches the gold braiding in her hair.
